The Supreme Court has already spoken out against Congress making universal health care the law of the land. Direct control of medical practice is beyond the power of the federal government. This is a decision of the Supreme Court, decided April 13, 1925, Linder vs. the United States. Then there is this case decided in 1926 that said, “Congress, therefore cannot directly restrict the professional judgment of the physician or interfere with its free exercise in the treatment of disease, Lambert vs. Yellow. You could look at Oregon vs. Ashcroft in 2004 or Conant vs. Walters in 2002. However, they all give similar judgments restricting congress’s authority over medicine and making it clear that the states have this right not congress.

What is being debated in Congress right now is direct control and therefore beyond the power of congress to enact. Let’s flood the senate with this information, call, email or fax them and tell them they cannot do this.  More than one case

Wouldn’t it be Great if Obama and his Czars Weren’t Clueless?

The Arabs Have Stopped Applauding Obama

A foreign policy of penance has won America no friends.

‘He talks too much,” a Saudi academic in Jeddah, who had once been smitten with Barack Obama, recently observed to me of America’s 44th president. He has wearied of Mr. Obama and now does not bother with the Obama oratory.

He is hardly alone, this academic. In the endless chatter of this region, and in the commentaries offered by the press, the theme is one of disappointment. In the Arab-Islamic world, Barack Obama has come down to earth.

He has not made the world anew, history did not bend to his will, the Indians and Pakistanis have been told that the matter of Kashmir is theirs to resolve, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the same intractable clash of two irreconcilable nationalisms, and the theocrats in Iran have not “unclenched their fist,” nor have they abandoned their nuclear quest.

There is little Mr. Obama can do about this disenchantment. He can’t journey to Turkey to tell its Islamist leaders and political class that a decade of anti-American scapegoating is all forgiven and was the product of American policies—he has already done that. He can’t journey to Cairo to tell the fabled “Arab street” that the Iraq war was a wasted war of choice, and that America earned the malice that came its way from Arab lands—he has already done that as well. He can’t tell Muslims that America is not at war with Islam—he, like his predecessor, has said that time and again.

It was the norm for American liberalism during the Bush years to brandish the Pew Global Attitudes survey that told of America’s decline in the eyes of foreign nations. Foreigners were saying what the liberals wanted said.

Now those surveys of 2009 bring findings from the world of Islam that confirm that the animus toward America has not been radically changed by the ascendancy of Mr. Obama. In the Palestinian territories, 15% have a favorable view of the U.S. while 82% have an unfavorable view. The Obama speech in Ankara didn’t seem to help in Turkey, where the favorables are 14% and those unreconciled, 69%. In Egypt, a country that’s reaped nearly 40 years of American aid, things stayed roughly the same: 27% have a favorable view of the U.S. while 70% do not. In Pakistan, a place of great consequence for American power, our standing has deteriorated: The unfavorables rose from 63% in 2008 to 68% this year.

Martin Kozlowski

Mr. Obama’s election has not drained the swamps of anti-Americanism. That anti-Americanism is endemic to this region, an alibi and a scapegoat for nations, and their rulers, unwilling to break out of the grip of political autocracy and economic failure. It predated the presidency of George W. Bush and rages on during the Obama presidency.

We had once taken to the foreign world that quintessential American difference—the belief in liberty, a needed innocence to play off against the settled and complacent ways of older nations. The Obama approach is different.

Steeped in an overarching idea of American guilt, Mr. Obama and his lieutenants offered nothing less than a doctrine, and a policy, of American penance. No one told Mr. Obama that the Islamic world, where American power is engaged and so dangerously exposed, it is considered bad form, nay a great moral lapse, to speak ill of one’s own tribe when in the midst, and in the lands, of others. U.N. Negotiations Show Promise in Iran Talks

White House Pay Czar agrees as Bank of America Cuts More Salaries

11-30-2009

Wall Street Journal

Bank of America has reduced the 2009 salary of two of its executives to $500,000 annually, The Wall Street Journal reports. CFO Joe Price and the president of the bank’s mortgage unit, Barbara Desoer, will receive stock-based awards for 2009, which could be paid in cash based on the price of the bank’s stock.

Price will get $5.25 million in stock-based awards and Desoer will be given $3.95 million in stock-based awards. The salary has been reduced from $800,000 after the U.S. Treasury’s pay czar analyzed the compensation of 13 of the Charlotte bank’s top executives.

Climate Change Czar Carol Browner on Hacked Emails: ‘Who Cares?’

Unelected Carol Browner, Climate Czar, and useful idiot, is sure to hasten the demise of the left in our country. That being said, she is good for something. Obama was scheduled to arrive at Dopenhagen empty handed, but leave it to Carol to have her other czaretts come up with an unauthorized plan. Random thoughts while observing the passing parade, J.C.

If the underpinnings of the science don’t matter, let’s make her the Flat Earth Czar.

Red State

Obama’s Energy and Climate Change Czar Carol Browner is unswayed by the revelations in the Hadley CRU hacked emails, saying

“I’m sticking with the 2,500 scientists. These people have been studying this issue for a very long time and agree this problem is real,” said Ms. Browner, who President Obama has tapped as his chief of policy on global warming. …

Ms. Browner initially shrugged when asked about the e-mails, saying she didn’t have a reaction. But when a reporter followed up, she said she will stick with the consensus of the 2,500 climate scientists on the International Panel on Climate Change who concluded global warming is happening and is most likely being pushed by human actions.  Complete Story:

Thanks You Health Care Czar and Your Panel, Let the Rationing Begin

ObamaCare: Let the Rationing Begin

by Dr. David Janda

November 29, 2009

Big Government

This is an absolute outrage, and one would think that even the most vapid women of the left would start getting that Obama Care is Rationing even for young women.  This must be stopped or many women will die. Random thoughts from the passing parade, J.C.

Last week,  the Federal Government Ivory Tower trumpeted important news.  One of its illustrious Task Forces has decided that women in their 40’s would be the first to experience “Medical Darwinism.”

breast_cancer_screening

The United States Preventive Services Task Force, comprised of 16 appointees, decreed that:

1.       Women in their 40’s no longer need routine yearly mammograms

2.       Women aged 50-74 are to have mammograms only every other year

3.       Self breast exams are no longer to be done at any age

Of note, this Task Force does NOT have even one member who is a cancer specialist or oncologist, let alone a breast cancer specialist. This panel based its recommendations NOT on comprehensive new clinical studies or research, but rather on computer projections of certain data points.  A review of previous recommendations by the same Federal Government reveals that these recommendations are diametrically at odds with recommendations made just six months ago. So, what changed in six months?

New studies? No.  What changed was the introduction of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid Health Care Reform legislation, whose heart and core is based on rationing and denying care. (Note the omission of the word “soul.”) This method is the most inhumane and unethical means of cutting costs.

Let’s NOT let this Panel’s rationing objective get in the way of the real facts about breast cancer:

1.      Breast Cancer is the number 1 killer of women globally…..500,000 women will die this year

2.      Seventeen percent of Breast Cancer deaths occur in women diagnosed in their 40’s

3.      Twenty-two percent of Breast Cancer deaths occur in women diagnosed in their 50’s

4.      One of the leading factors in INCREASED survival rates in breast and other types of Cancer is based on EARLY diagnosis and intervention.

5.      Those countries with higher death rates from Cancer have health care delivery systems based on rationing tests and treatments.

The recommendations made by the “Ivory Tower” Federal Panel do not even pretend to address these five points.  However, they are completely in line with The Obama-Pelosi-Reid Health Care Legislation agenda— to deny and ration care as a means to cut costs.

On Sunday, November 22, Fox News Sunday interviewed Senator Arlen Specter, who was a Democrat before he was Republican before he was a Democrat.  Senator Specter let the “secret agenda” of Obama-Pelosi-Reid slip . When questioned on the fact that The Senate Bill cuts $500 Billion in Medicare spending over ten years, yet in ten years there will be 30 percent more people in Medicare, Senator Spector stumbled. He admitted that  Congress has NEVER cut Medicare benefits in its history and then confessed, “This Bill has a provision….a CURE….in how we can CUT Medicare—a Commission.”  That’s right, a non-elected Commission will be appointed by The President.  Starting in 2015, this Commission will oversee Medicare and its expenditures, but this Commission will NOT be accountable to the public. Initially, it will oversee cuts to Medicare Advantage, the same program that services 10 million Seniors. Using this type of panel to make such cuts, when it is NOT accountable to or elected by the public, is like bombing an enemy from 40,000 feet…..destruction occurs but you don’t see their faces.  And, by 2019, ALL limits are off, and every American can become the target of the carpet bombing.

The bad news is that through this legislation authored by Obama-Pelosi-Reid, every American is facing more than one bomber.  Through the hidden health care portion of The Stimulus Bill we are facing a squadron of bombers:  The Federal Coordinating Council of Comparative Effectiveness Research, The National Coordinator of Health Information Technology Office, and The Medicare Commission in The Health Care Bill.. Their mission is to deny and ration care, and, as stated in The Stimulus Bill, “To guide medical decisions at the time and place of care.”  Say so long to your privacy, doctor-patient privilege, choice, and control over your health care options and access.

Today it is mammogram screening tests.  Tomorrow it will be the rationing and denial of treatment, if Obama-Pelosi-Reid have their way.  Every American will become a victim of their rationing boards.   Faceless, unaccountable, and unelected, these commissions will control 17% of this country’s GNP, and 100% of your health care options.

So, how is that “Hope” and “Change” looking so far?

A Tipping Point? Former Media Czar Katie Couric Rips Obama

Turning Point: Couric Rips Obama

NewsMax

November 29, 2009

Clearly one of the most vacuous, and vapid among Obama’s sycophants  Cutie Katie may be reading alternative sources. In no possible way could she come up with such utterances on her own.  I’d love to see Sarah Palin interview Couric live, throw down the gauntlet Sarah, challenge her for a $1,000,000 open uncut interview where you ask the questions.  She is very close to becoming a flatliner in her career, you could put an end to it as she helpe impune your credibility during the last election cycle. Random Thoughs while observing the passing parade, J.C.

Katie Couric may be best known for her unflattering interview with Sarah Palin. But her nightly news broadcast this past Monday night may be an indicator that the big liberal media are now turning their guns on Obama.

Couric said on “CBS Evening News” that Americans are growing “disenchanted” with Obama and are openly questioning his credibility.

“Is the honeymoon over?” anchor Couric said at the beginning of her correspondent’s report.

“Although President Obama has been in office less than a year, many Americans are growing disenchanted with his handling of the enormous problems he and the country are facing, from healthcare to unemployment to Afghanistan.

“His poll numbers are sliding, and at least one poll shows his job approval rating has fallen, for the first time, below 50 percent.”

Correspondent Chris Reid chimed in: “The president is getting battered on everything from the economy to foreign policy. Some polls show Americans are increasingly questioning his credibility.”

The report asserted that while Obama talks about dealing with unemployment, which is over 10 percent and expected to rise, he has developed “no new ideas” for dealing with the problem.

CBS also cited a poll showing that only 14 percent of Americans believe Obama’s claim that healthcare reform won’t add to the budget deficit, and only 7 percent believe that the stimulus has created any jobs at all.

The report also criticized the president for being “indecisive” on Afghanistan, and for returning from his recent Asian trip “with little to show for it.”

An expert was quoted as describing his trip as the “amateur hour,” as he did not line up agreements with foreign countries before venturing abroad.

How many times have you heard or read words to the effect that 4000 scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) supported the claims about a significant human influence on climate? I think I’ve seen it on television, radio and the Internet and I know that politicians at national levels have quoted such figures. There’s no question whatsoever. It’s utterly wrong.

Weapons of Mass Destruction Czar Fails Obama

Non-STARTer
Another Obama diplomatic failure?

by Fred Barnes
12/07/2009, Volume 015, Issue 12 To Appear

President Obama will receive his Nobel Peace Prize on December 10 in Oslo, Norway. This is a problem for Obama, and maybe for the rest of us as well.

When the Nobel Committee announced the award, it pointedly “attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.” But Obama may go to Oslo empty-handed–and a bit embarrassed–on exactly that issue, the reduction of nuclear weapons. This is because the chief nuclear arms treaty between the United States and Russia (START) expires on December 5, and any new treaty has yet to be agreed on.

The White House is desperate to avoid the humiliation of having failed to finalize a treaty that Obama and President Dmitri Medvedev of Russia can sign pre-Oslo. General James Jones, Obama’s national security adviser, traveled to Moscow a month ago to speed up the negotiations. Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is expected to go to Moscow.

The urgency creates problems of its own. In the eagerness to produce a fresh arms control agreement, Obama’s negotiators may make concessions harmful to America’s national security interests, particularly on the matters of counting the number of nuclear delivery vehicles and inspecting weapons facilities.

Verification matters. In the old days the Soviets couldn’t be counted on to abide by the limits in a treaty. Nor can the Russian government today. Verification is what the Russians would most like to restrain in the new treaty. And any gap between treaties–between the old and the not-yet-agreed-on. Complete Story
