Terror cannot be struck into the hearts of an army by merely cutting its lines of communication or depriving it of its routes of withdrawal. It is basically related to the strength or weakness of the human soul.
It can be instilled only if the opponent’s Faith is destroyed. Psychological dislocation is temporary; spiritual dislocation is permanent. Psychological dislocation can be produced hy a physical act but this does not hold good of the spiritual dislocation. To instill terror into the hearts of the enemy,
invincible Faith is immune to terror. A weak Faith offers inroads
to terror. The Faith conferred upon us by the Holy Quran has
the inherent strength to ward off teror from us and to enable
us to strike terror into the enemy. …
Usama bin Laden was not the enemy, he was one of their leaders. He can and will be replaced. Others will perform the functions he performed. President Obama caused me to execrate when he repeated the Traitor’s Oath: “We are not and never will be at war with Islam.” Al-Qaida is nothing more than a name; a distinction without a difference, which confers plausible deniability upon the real enemy.
Usama’s declaration of war was not the first. The original declaration was made in the 7th century by Muhammad, founder of Islam. Speaking for Allah, he said:
When this nation gained independence from King George III, Islam, represented by the Barbary Pirates, sacked our merchentmen, seizing ships & cargo; killing & enslaving the crews. This nation was nearly bankrupted by paying tribute. Ambassadors Jefferson & Adams asked by what right they attacked us. The answer should give you a clue to the identity of the enemy.
The answer runs parallel to that given by one of Umar’s generals in the invasion of Persia. This is reported in Sahih Bukhari 4.53.386.
The order to attack Christians is contained in 9:29, It is explained by Tafsir Ibn Kathir.
The order is confirmed by Sahih Bukhari 1.8.387 and several parallel ahadith.
The order is codified in Islamic law: Reliance of the Traveller, Book O, Chapter 9, Paragraph 8.
O9.8: The Objectives of Jihad
The caliph (o25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled” (Koran 9.29),[...]
Surah Al-Hujuraat 49:15 defines believers.
Surah At-Taubah 9:111 has even greater clarity.
There ain’t any peace; there is permanent war while there is Islam on the face of the earth.
