I was amazed at the depth of knowledge Michele Bachmann had on foreign policy. As the National review on-line just quipped, Michele Bachmann Owes John Boehner a Christmas Gift. Her intelligence-committee membership showed in this debate, especially in discussing Pakistan with Rick Perry.
She mixed it up with New on Illegal immigration
Some of Newt Gingrich’s critics have been taking him on over his past stands on immigration, and Michele Bachmann joined them onstage, pointing out that the former House Speaker supported, as she said, the federal DREAM Act.
Gingrich disagreed, but did say that he would support allowing some immigrants to stay and join the military, the one portion of the DREAM Act he said he liked.
“I did vote for the Simpson-Mazzoli Act … He signed it because we were gonna get two things in return: we were gonna secure the border and we were gonna get a guest-worker program with employer enforcement. We got neither,” said Gingrich.
Bachmann twisted the knife on Gingrich, saying, “We need to move away from magnets.”
Mitt Romney chimed in about strict enforcement of immigration laws, and Gingrich replied, “The party that says it’s the party of the family is going to adopt a policy that destroys families that have been here a quarter century … finding a way to create legality so they are not separated from their families.”

She did great hope she is on the road to a great improvement. Love to see that. But wonder why they don’t mention Obama and all his failures.
The two strongest conservatives on the stage this evening were none other than Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum. I think Ron Paul is just about toast with his craziness in responses. I believe all the RINO’s ie Romney, Gingrinch, & Perry, should all consider pulling the plug now. I also think that Huntsman is about out of ideas. But I assure you the light and the coal is still burning bright in the minds of the two conservatives and both have a real plan for America. Check out each of their web sites personally, and also check out “Real Diferences 2012″ which is a site that shows all the comparative differences between the candidates on the stage. This is a fact based site so do look at it. Finally, I think it is time for Mr. Cain to know when he is out of his league and should for the sake of the party close his campaign now. That is the way I see this going from here. How about you?
I agree she did great, and I said the same to my wife while watching why not wrap up their comments comparing the failed policies of the “illegal resident” Toward about the middle I believe they did so. I liked this debate the most. When the Heritage Foundation is involved you don’t get ding bat questions from the agenda driven moderators. Thanks for your comments. J.C.
I’ve always leaned towad Bachman. I believe she is probably the only one who is in it for the COUNTRY and not for self promotion and power and greed. She’s very smart, and has a real grip on the severity of all our problems , whether forign or domestic, deficit or jobs. She is well studied in all areas.
I have always liked Michele Bachmann. She is smart and she is an absolute strong conservative. She has done and voted exactly as she said she would even though the votes did not succeed. She did very well in the debate and she would make a good President. But she is far behind and has a long way to go to catch up to the others. Mostly because the media prior to last night have not asked her many question nor have the asked Santorum many questions. They concentrated on Perry and Romney untill Cain rose and Newt rose in the polls.
