This one is difficult to comprehend. Allen West one of the most Conservative Republicans in Congress. He get’s into it now and then because he tells it like it is and that means he is speaking the truth. An unusual commodity for an elected official today. Let’s see we have Allen West or Nancy Pelosi, who needs the redistricting? Any question? The fix is in.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.
The establishment is fighting back, alright.
This has not received a lot of national attention, but the Republican legislature in Florida is about to push through a plan which puts Allen West at serious risk, and the person leading the effort is one of Mitt Romney’s spokemen. As reported by The Shark Tank:
After last night’s [Jan. 26] Republican Presidential debate, the candidates’ respective spin-meisters made their cases to the media as to why their guy won the debate. One of Governor Mitt Romney’s spokesmen was Florida Representative Will Weatherford, and during the course of his remarks in the “Spin Room”, he shed a very dim light on the ongoing redistricting process in the Florida Legislature….
West’s congressional district inexplicably sheds the most out support as compared to all other incumbent Republican and Democrat Congressman. A few weeks back we quoted an unnamed legislator saying that, “Allen West was screwed”, a statement which was originally made about made five months before the purposed maps were made public, leading insiders to believe that the fix was in against Allen West. But in light of Weatherford’s comment, it is increasingly clear that this is a fait accompli.
According to Weatherford, those preliminary maps will not change- at the most, any additional changes would be minimal, and those changes would not make any appreciable difference from the preliminary maps. In addition, Weatherford stated that a deal was struck between him, Senate President Mike Haridopolos, and Senator Don Gaetz to finalize these maps and push them through as soon as possible.
Weatherford tried to hide behind a need to comply with [state and] federal law, but that’s obviously a dodge since there could have been many ways to comply yet not sacrifice West:
A website, SaveAllenWest, had been set up, but it appears to be too late.
One of the rising stars of the Tea Party is about to be sacrificed by the Republican establishment in Florida, led by someone spinning for Mitt Romney.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Update No. 2 1-30-2012: Mark Levin interviewed West on January 30. West stated that maps were submitted to the legislature which would have kept his district intact and still been in compliance with state and federal law. Levin said he did not believe the excuses being made that the map had to be drawn the way it was as a matter of law.

I agree and saw the same. What surprised me at the time, and I now know the why of the post, was, that while going on the Fox web site and seeing the critics of West, when he was & is an Ideal conservative, and the number of liberals flooding the site, I haven’t watched or visited fox since May 2011. I think he’s hesitating because he has been in a political fight to the death in Florida for some time, this isn’t new, but, as Jim pointed out, it has grown against him, no thanks to his very own party. That makes West even more appealing to those of us tired of these Republican elites. I even believe that after the up coming election, that we should form a new party getting back to our roots as conservatives, it’s not as risky as some have us believing, and we are watered down already as it is, so the move In my opinion may save us, or, we can watch the watering down of our party by the likes of Rohm, Paul, Murkowski, Anderson and Snowe to name just a small few..

Before you go telling everyone what a wonderful, true conservative Mr. Romney is I suggest you take a another good, long look at his record as your governor. He supported:
1) The federal asault weapons ban and the Brady bill.
2) Gay marriage.
3) Abortion.
Additionally he instituted Romney Care which bears a striking resemblance to the socialist Obamacare we are now saddled with. Seems Romney’s more RINO than real Republican.
Yes, as a Mormon there probably are a number of voters who distrust him; but I suspect he’ll lose more Republican votes on his record in Mass than he will because of his religious persuasion.
Mr. Gingrich may not be perfect, but then who is? Romney? I hardly think so.
IMHO, Mr. Romney is just another career politician who will say what the people want to hear while raking in crony cash and leading this country further down the road to total economic collapse.
I’ll put my vote behind A Gingrich/West package any day knowing that the people of this nation would stand a much better chance of seeing some real, positive change. With Romney we’d just have more of the same failed policy that the Kenyan impostor has dealt us for the past three years. Even uber-Socialist George Soros says so.
Ihtapner you are exactly right I left FB again after almost losing my Comp. last week. I use one of the best Anti Virus protection there is ( AVG) and they got through again. Newt/West is our best choice, he said he will take it all the way to convention and let them decide who the nominee is.Then hope he selects West and or Palin as mate

Lauren you need to get over it Romney is backed by Soros you also must like living under communist rule, West said he would accept VP if asked and Newt is the only one that can debate Odumbo and win with west as VP they will win Gen. Elec.
