Eastwood: If DC Doesn’t ‘Give a Damn,’ How Can We?

jcComment by Jim Campbell, Citizen Journalist, Oath Keeper and Patriot.

Mr. Eastwood is correct, for the most part Washington D.C. doesn’t care about We the People, they are to involved in maintaining their grasp on power and perks.

It’s up to the voter to hold these representatives accountable yet we don’t.

Simpson Bowls is unlikely to pass as it has too many tax cuts for the hard left, and not enough cutting of useless programs.

In the end it would dampen the effect of the lobbyist and of course these are the people who push our elected officials to back legislation that will buy their products or services.

Said another way, their campaign contributions keep these reprobates in office.

No one can question the patriotism of Clint Eastwood.

Back to the days when he was Mayor of Carmel, Eastwood is an accomplished actor, director and a businessman and principal owner of Mal Paso Productions.

Award-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood told CNBC that Washington should follow the bipartisan lead of Simpson-Bowles.

Hollywood legend and Republican supporter Clint Eastwood told CNBC that Washington gridlock is sending the nation racing towards another contentious debt deadline.

“It’s almost like they don’t give a damn,” he said, in a “Squawk Box” interview that aired Friday.

The Oscar-winning director who’s also known for his tough-guy roles asked rhetorically, “If they don’t give a damn, why did they expect anybody else to?”

With the deal to avoid the “fiscal cliff” barely in the rearview mirror, President Barack Obama and Republican leaders are on the clock again, scrambling to compromise on a package to replace the already-postponed automatic government spending cuts due to kick-in next month.

Eastwood: Washington in a ‘Political Quagmire’
Award-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood told CNBC it’s “very disappointing” that American leaders “aren’t stepping up.”

Eastwood described it as “very disappointing” that so little has been accomplished. “The election’s over. We should be moving ahead. The leaders aren’t stepping up,” and he said, “I think they have to hear from the public out there. And maybe the public is a little lackadaisical.”

He was thrust into the political spotlight of the 2012 presidential election — first with the “Halftime in America” Super Bowl commercial he did that year for Chrysler; and then over the summer at the Republican National Convention with the now infamous “empty chair” bit. (Entire Article Below)

Eastwood: Dismissed ‘Invisible Obama’ Controversy
“Seemed odd at the time. But, you know, I’m an odd person,” award-winning director and actor Clint Eastwood joked on CNBC.

Addressing criticism from the right that the Chrysler ad seemed like an endorsement for President Obama, Eastwood said his only intention was to inspire. “If there’s a momentum going — which everybody thought there might be at that particular time, at least in the auto industry — then let’s keep it going.”

He also dismissed the controversy surrounding the “invisible Obama” routine at the RNC. “Seemed odd at the time. But, you know, I’m an odd person,” he laughed.

“One thing about getting into the senior status of life, like I am, you don’t really care,” he joked. “You just say what you say and then you get away with it.”

  1. Clint is right. Our majority of our government leaders are weak and irresponsible, not to mention, greedy, selfish, and cowardly! And that’s on both sides of the aisle!

  2. Oops! I mean’t “The” majority, not “ours”! I cannot stand making grammatical errors when stating my opinion. It’s a writer thing I guess!

  3. I’ve admired his politics eve since he became the first honest mayor Carmel CA ever had before – OR since.

  4. Make my day Eastwood knows what the hell is going on, but is having trouble articulating it. He is still an American Icon, and his Obama Parody of the Emmpty Chair was the most clever idea ever composed to show the shallowness and nothingness of Barack Hussein Barry Soetero Obama, a know nothing deadbeat and race hustler of the Marxist/Alinsky variety.

  5. Obama has a job that is, for the most part, an Empty Chair Job as he is on a Permanent Vacation and Golfing Spree that goes uninterrupted, except when His Handlers and Propaganda Speech Writers want to Parade Him out to Read Lies and Propaganda that his Handlers and Propagandists have prepared for him to Read from his Teleprompter so as to appear Presidential. As soon as the Camera Moment (Optics as Obama Calls it) and Recording is Done, he is back to golfing and vacation until the Next Crisis, that is created by his handlers, to come out and Read another Propaganda Speech for Public Consumption, and then the media pick up his Lying Speeches and Reports on them as if they are Facts and Offer their Favorable Opinions so as to Con the Idiots who watch this crap and choose to believe it and be influenced by it.

The Empty Chair of Obama is the same way he has been all his life. He has never attended anything of importance except when he is called to Show Up to make an Appearance. And, his entire life before becoming POTUS, is a Blank Page of Accomplishment, and of course he has no resume, because he had never had a real job, and in fact, his entire past is an Empty Page just Like the Empty Chair that represents him, and more sadly, he has an Empty ass Brain.
