There have always been enemies lists, and partisan politics with misuse and abuse of the IRS.
Republicans have become to good at playing nice when it’s time for all out war.

All current scandals must be fully investigated and those accountable sent to prison.
If for no other reason, to draw a line for future Democrats, “Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.”

The use of the IRS to target conservative groups should be the least surprising development in years. Not only does that sort of thing date back to Clinton and JFK, both of whom unleashed the IRS on their enemies, not to mention Nixon who never managed to pull off the things that JFK grinned, did and got away with, but there was no reason for not to do it.

The two reasons not to sic the IRS on your enemies are decency and the law. Is there anything in Obama’s career, including his treatment of fellow Democrats, to suggest that he cares for either one?

The man in the White House clawed his way to power by stabbing his mentor in the back, leaking the divorce records of his political opponents and throwing out the votes of Democrats in Florida and Michigan to claim the nomination.

And he was just getting started.

In the last election, Obama urged voters to punish our “enemies”. It was a window into the mindset of a man who moans and groans about partisan politics, but talks like Huey Long when he gets in front of the right audience.

But these days the description is fairly apt. Who was the last president that both sides could agree was an okay sort of guy or something less than the devil incarnate? The answer might be George H. W. Bush, who was pilloried for being an out of touch rich guy, but really not all that bad when you think about it. And that means we have to go back two decades to find a president that the other side didn’t think should be put on an ice floe and pushed out to sea.

And before Bush I, we would have to go back all the way to the Eisenhower or Truman era. Politics was never nice. It was often very nasty indeed. But this isn’t the petty infighting of the political class anymore. We’re not talking about Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr shooting it out or Eleanor Roosevelt driving a car with a teapot on its roof behind Theodore Roosevelt Jr to keep him away from the job that would eventually go to her husband. This is a partisan politics born out of ideology.

The old politics sought a status quo that could be tweaked to favor one side or interest. The new ideological politics seek a fundamental transformation that will entirely destroy the status quo and eventually tear out every element, overturn every trace of what was and replace it with what should be. Ideological partisanship of this stripe is not concerned with the stability of the system. It is not worried about burning bridges because it believes all the bridges will have to be burned anyway.  Entire article below.

If This Were the Business World, President Obama Would Be Held Responsible and Fired

As a major CEO, Obama would not have been able to use the excuse,” I never studied Capitalism, only Marxism.”

I have absolutely no clue on how to create jobs,” ” You mean raising taxes won’t do it?”  ” Would you like a peak at my “sealed records to see what an asset I really am?”

No keep them sealed you are out of here, hope you have cab fare.

We the People Don’t Care.

President Obama says he didn’t know about the multiple scandals involving his administration, including the IRS harassment of conservative groups. But as the chief executive, shouldn’t President Obama be held responsible for these scandals?

If this were the business world, the answer would be “yes,” The Heritage Foundation’s Daniel Dew explains:

It is interesting to note, however — by way of analogy only — that under the DOJ’s standard of “responsibility,” if President Obama were the head of a corporation, he would be responsible and could be prosecuted.

According to the Responsible Corporate Officer Doctrine, Dew explains, the only requirement to determine criminal liability is, “some relationship between the executive’s supervisory responsibilities and the underlying misconduct.” President Obama meets these two criteria.

President Obama’s defenders argue that the government is too large and complex for the president to know what’s going on, so he cannot possibly be held responsible. If that’s true, Dew suggests that private executives should be granted the same leniency:

If the President is not responsible for the wrongdoings of executive branch employees because the federal government is “too vast” for him to know everything that goes on in the various agencies, business owners and officers should be afforded the same excuse in criminal prosecutions.

Ultimately, this is an argument for limited government. The smaller the government, the easier to account for all the goings-on in each different branch and department.

CBS News President and WH Official Tied to Benghazi Scandal Are Brothers

Does any serious reader of this site actually believe that the traditional news media has been responsible for the daily sound bites the unformed voter uses to make a decision?

Linotype_2

Now with multiple scandals the smell blood and are beginning to get the real story or be destined the way of the linotype  machine?

The linotype was used to set type manually, the copy put in treys, ink rolled over the copy and the page of the news appeared.

Obviously rendered useless with computers and off set printing.

One of the mainstream media journalists whose pursuit of the truth has been truly tenacious and nonpartisan is CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson.  Her tough reporting has made life difficult for everyone from Hillary Clinton to the Bush administration and Congressional Republicans.  She’s also been relentless on the Obama administration’s Fast & Furious gun-running scandal — and, of course, Benghazi.  As we mentioned this week, Attkisson’s tough investigative journalism is starting to bother unnamed CBS News executives.  Here’s Politico’s scoop, in case you missed it:

But from where Attkisson is sitting, there are actually two Goliaths, one of which is almost entirely absent from the Post profile. The second Goliath is CBS News, which has grown increasingly frustrated with Attkisson’s Benghazi campaign. CBS News executives see Attkisson wading dangerously close to advocacy on the issue, network sources have told POLITICO. Attkisson can’t get some of her stories on the air, and is thus left feeling marginalized and underutilized. That, in part, is why Attkisson is in talks to leave CBS ahead of contract, as POLITICO reported in April. Farhi mentions “internal conflicts” in the final paragraph, though he seems to dismiss them. The “internal conflicts” are indeed real — Attkisson is still eyeing an exit, according to sources — and provide important context for today’s piece.

Lessons on forgiveness from a 98 year-old golfer (Parody)

Sage advice given alone from our friend the golfer. I learned hatred is like taking poison daily and expecting the other person to die.

All golfers should live so long as to be this kind of old man!

Toward the end of the Sunday service, the Minister asked, “How many of you have forgiven your enemies?”

80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one man, an avid golfer named Walter Barnes, who attended church only when the weather was bad.

“Mr. Barnes, it’s obviously not a good morning for golf. It’s good to see you here today. Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?”

“I don’t have any,” he replied gruffly.

“Mr. Barnes, that is very unusual. How old are you?”

“Ninety-eight,” he replied. The congregation stood up and clapped their hands.

“Oh, Mr. Barnes, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?”

The old golfer tottered down the aisle, stopped in front of the pulpit, turned around, faced the congregation, and said, ” I out lived the son’s ah bitches.”

A man with blood-soaked hands holding what appeared to be a meat cleaver and a machete spoke out at the gruesome scene of a suspected terror attack in broad daylight in London on Wednesday.

According to reports, two men attacked and killed a third man near a London military barracks, shouting “Allahu Akbar.” The London Daily Telegraph characterized the attack as “Islamist terror.” Unconfirmed reports stated the man killed was a soldier.

“I apologize that women had to witness this today, but in our land, our women have to see the same!” the man told a camera, as the victim’s body lay nearby. “You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don’t care about you!”

One eyewitness claimed on Twitter that he saw the victim “with his head chopped off,” a detail that was not confirmed by police.

Prime Minister David Cameron called the killing “truly shocking” and said he had asked Home Secretary Theresa May to call an urgent meeting of the government’s emergency committee. Entire article below.
