Eastwood says his convention appearance was ‘mission accomplished’

Obama ‘greatest hoax ever perpetrated’~Clint Eastwood

AFTER  A week as topic No. 1 in American politics, former Carmel Mayor Clint Eastwood said the outpouring of criticism from left-wing reporters and liberal politicians after his appearance at the Republican National Convention last Thursday night, followed by an avalanche of support on Twitter and in the blogosphere, is all the proof anybody needs that his 12-minute discourse achieved exactly what he intended it to.

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood told The Pine Cone this week. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”
Breaking his silence

For five days after he thrilled or horrified the nation by talking to an empty chair representing Obama on the night Mitt Romney accepted the Republican nomination for president, Eastwood remained silent while pundits and critics debated whether his remarks, and the rambling way he made them, had helped or hurt Romney’s chances of winning in November.

But in a wide-ranging interview with The Pine Cone Tuesday from his home in Pebble Beach, he said he had conveyed the messages he wanted to convey, and that the spontaneous nature of his presentation was intentional, too.

Is Newt Gingrich the next Republican to rise and fall as the chief alternative to Mitt Romney?

Washington Times

Comment by Jim Campbell

In the hit piece memo “leaked by the RNC” according to the Politico, it would seem that the old guard of the Republican Party doesn’t get it.  To turn America around and back toward economic viability a strong fiscal conservative is needed.  Romney is not that man.

The assertions about Newt, taken out of context, pale when compared to Romney’s actions.  If Romney wins the nomination, are we to actually believe that he was picked by the Republican Party or the elite puppet masters of the NWO?

Certainly Romney would be far more easily manipulated than a Newt Gingrich presidency. Romney’s historical actions of going the way the wind is blowing proves that.  America…………..We don’t need a RINO for president.

BETTENDORF, Iowa – Despite the former House speaker’s sudden return to prominence in the GOP presidential field, reservations about his long record in public life — and the baggage that comes with it — will continue to call into question just what kind of staying power he has.

And even he isn’t counting his chickens.“This is the most volatile race of my lifetime,” Gingrich said at a meet and greet Monday at an insurance company headquarters in West Des Moines. “This is a wild race, OK? Who knows what the polls are going to be two months from now? I’m not going to tell you that I’m on the way.”

Given what has happened to the last few would-be Romney usurpers, it would be no surprise to see Gingrich catch Romney and then quickly fade. We’ve already seen this story play out with Rep. Michele Bachmann, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and, most recently, businessman Herman Cain.

“What About The Country, Mr. President?”

GOP Leader Video Released In Response To Disappointing Jobs Report Challenges President Obama to Focus On American People’s Priorities

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today released a new web video challenging President Obama to focus on the American people’s priorities after the release of yet another disappointing jobs report.  The video, entitled “What About The Country, Mr. President?,” features questions posed by Boehner to President Obama regarding jobs, spending, the financial meltdown, and the Gulf oil spill:

SCRIPT: “WHAT ABOUT THE COUNTRY, MR. PRESIDENT?”

House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH): “This week, President Obama traveled to Racine, Wisconsin – a city with 14 percent unemployment – and used his time there to attack me.  But I’d ask the President several questions.”

President Obama: “In the Gulf, we don’t yet know what caused the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.”

Leader Boehner: “Why aren’t you focused on stopping the oil spill in the Gulf and getting the Gulf cleaned up?”
