Obama’s apology for the burning of the Qur’an in Afghanistan

Commentary by Jim Campbell

Let’s get one thing clear, burning of the Qur’an is a complete farce. We are constantly told by the followers of the Stone Age pedophile Muhammad that Islam is the “religion of peace” and tolerance.

If its adherents followed the teachings they would not kill other Muslims which they do on an hourly basis in the third world.  So I say for the Qur’an, “Burn baby Burn”  You can’t have it both ways, it either a book about peace and love or about murder and blood lust. Your actions speak louder than a burning boo.

In view of the Taliban’s call to kill Westerners and foreign military bases they can’t be taken seriously.  Yet in an act of his continuously failed foreign policy Obama chooses to negotiate with these murdering zealots.

After Decade of Military Dominance, U.S. Negotiates with Taliban as Equals: Talks include release of Taliban prisoners at GITMO.

This will be know among future historians as the Obama Policy:” Speak softly when you are a limp dick.”

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

Gingrich: Obama apology for Qur’an burning in Afghanistan an ‘outrage’ in light of deaths

KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 23 (UPI) — U.S. President Obama apologized to Afghan President Hamid Karzai Thursday for the accidental burning of Korans by NATO troops that has led to violent protests.

Violent anti-American protests have erupted across Afghanistan since the U.S. military Tuesday apologized for what it said was the accidental “improper disposal” at Bagram Air Base of religious materials, including copies of the Muslim holy book.

The United States is working with the Afghan government to investigate the incident.

“We will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, including holding accountable those responsible,” Obama said in the letter delivered by U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan Ryan Crocker, Karzai’s office said.

White House spokesman Jay Carneysaid the letter to Karzai was a follow-up to a telephone conversation between the two leaders.”I think that the message that we’re trying to convey here is that this was inadvertent. We take it very seriously,” Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One Thursday.

Carney said NATO Commander Gen. John Allen, “is taking steps to ensure that this kind of thing can’t happen again by instituting training on the handling of religious materials.”

An Afghan soldier, apparently angry over the burning of Korans, fatally shot two U.S. troops and wounded four others, Afghan officials said.

Carney told reporters the expression of regret by Obama was part of a letter to Karzai “on a number of topics, including the Afghan-led reconciliation process and our bilateral relationship with Afghanistan, in which he included an expression of his regret and apologies for the inappropriate and inadvertent mishandling of religious materials.”Carney noted that Dana Perino, when she was press secretary for former President George W. Bush, “expressed apologies on behalf of the president” after a 2008 incident in which a U.S. serviceman “apparently shot or did damage to a Koran.”

“And that’s appropriate for the same reason, because our concern — this president’s concern, as was surely the case with President Bush, is the safety and security of our men and women in uniform, as well as our civilians in Afghanistan,” Carney said.

“And one of the reasons that it’s appropriate to express our sincere apologies for this incident is that the kind of reaction that it can cause risks putting our men and women in harm’s way, or in further risk than they already are,” he said. “So I think that precedent is a useful one to look at.”

It remained unclear how many Korans were involved, a military official told CNN Thursday. The official said American troops at the base would have been unable to read the texts, which could have contributed to the error.

Another military official said earlier the materials had been removed from a detainee center’s library because they carried “extremist inscriptions” on them and there was “an appearance that these documents were being used to facilitate extremist communications.”

Violent protests took place Thursday at U.S. and NATO military facilities across Afghanistan, including one demonstration in which police apparently shot and killed two protesters.

The Taliban in Afghanistan called on Muslims to attack NATO facilities and convoys and kill military personnel, CNN reported.

In an e-mail message, the Taliban accused “the invading infidel authorities” of trying to calm the situation with two “so-called shows of apology, but in reality they let their inhuman soldiers insult our holy book.”

The e-mail urged Afghans to seek revenge “until the doers of such inhumane actions are prosecuted and punished.”

“We should attack their military bases, their military convoys, we should kill their soldiers, arrest their invading soldiers, beat them up and give a kind of lesson to them that they never dare to insult the holy Koran,” the message said.

The International Security Assistance Force said in a statement two military personnel were killed in eastern Afghanistan Thursday by “an individual wearing an Afghan National Army uniform” but didn’t identify the troops’ nationality.

CBS News said an Afghan official said the dead and wounded in the attack in the eastern province of Ningarhar were American. The official said the shooting seemed to be motivated by the burning of Korans at the Bagram Air Base north of Kabul, but did not elaborate.

  1. This is outrageous! How does he (Obama) know that it was our soldiers who burned these Qurans? May be the Muslims did it themselves! And what about when these monsters have captured our soldiers and cut their heads off? Has Obama sent his apologies to the families of these men?

  2. Obama is getting crazyer by the speech… It sounds like the more he has to make decision the more it makes him look like he just cant handle the WH any more…

    - – – “The objective of war is victory. Obviously our politicians and military leaders have forgotten this simple theme since WWII. The following was sent by a former Marine friend who served both in Korea and Vietnam, he is dead on…”
    My Two Cents
Okay, I have to say something about the Marine pissing incident (or Koran burning incident). Was it inappropriate? Yes. Would I have done it? Probably not. Would I have done it when I was 19? Maybe. Were there times that I may have done it in Viet Nam if time permitted? There is a good chance for, “probably”. I was 22 when I was there and was called the old man and pops.
We send kids a year out of high school to the worst hell holes on earth and expect them to behave better than they did at their senior prom. So many Americans have lived for multiple generations with security at home that they can’t comprehend what goes on in other parts of the world. “War is Hell”, isn’t just something they say in the movies. First of all, you are exhausted all the time because you never sleep deeply. Your body is running on high idle even when you try to rest. The places we send these kids to, stink from lack of sanitation. There are bugs and mold and mildew and trash and human waste everywhere. You are in some level of fear all the time. You have seen, smelled, heard, touched and done things no sane person would ever want to do.
There is no script for war. It is improv at it’s best. Shit happens and it happens fast. A blind eye should be turned to many, many things.
We have no idea what led up to this incident. Did these kids eat in the past 24 hours? Have they slept in the past 36 hours? What did these talabaners do?
War is about killing people and breaking their things. We have forgotten how to fight. You can’t win peoples hearts while shooting their Uncle Fred. We knock down a dung and stick shed, and then replace it with a $12,000,000 hospital! Well who won that one?
This is how we need to fight.
    1. Go in, kick ass on those who pissed us off.
    2. Destroy their infrastructure.
    3. Go home when you are sure they won’t have the desire to screw with us again for at least two generations.
I hate war. I’m glad my Sons didn’t have to go to war.
In reference to current times, we will never win the hearts of muslims. They don’t even like themselves, hate their family and kill their neighbors, so what chance do we stand. The only course to follow is to convince them that the cost of messing with the west is way too high.
Back to the pissing kids. Slap their hands, tell them not to do it again and not try to figure out how pissing is bad and killing is okay.
War is HELL; it sucks, smells bad and is bad for your physical and mental health. Don’t sit in your recliner watching CNN and pass judgment on these kids.
    Semper Fi,

  4. Well. obama is not crazy or stupid. Everything he says and does is designed to destroy this country as it was founded! And he knows it! In my humble opinion – The only “thing” obama should apologize for is this: Surviving birth. I guess when he publically stated that the “The USA is no longer a Christian nation”; that remark does not deserve an apology to ALL American citizens? obama sees the Constitution as an obsticle to him to easily convert the freedom that real Americans have fought & died for, all around the world – into servatude, and a dictatorship with him as the ultimate ruler.
Am I the only one in the country to notice that the same policies of 1939 Germany are now currently in force or close to that and at least, on the same path, thanks to obama & the democrat party? The first amendment – “free speach” – freedom to disagree with the federal governmnet? – What is that? Political correctness now rules. If you disagree with what obama, via the socialist/democrat party, is doing you are now a terrorist. Just ask “homeland security”. Talk about an oxymoron, homeland security? Yes, right!
If someone was to give me a quoran – koran or however it is spelled, I just call it the devils book – I will be more than happy to burn it in public or in private. I sure as hell will not spend my money to buy the instruction book for the Anti-Christ.!
(Note – Caps of his name, NOT accidentially missing.)
