Where have all the flowers gone?

By Jim Campbell, Citizen Journalist

Please don’t miss the accompanying video, it is beyond touching!

The song, written by Pete Seeger as a call for peace during the Vietnam War. Seeger’s lyrics show how war and suffering can by cyclical in nature: girls pick flowers, men pick girls, men go to war and fill graves with their dead which get covered with flowers.

The folk group Peter, Paul And Mary began playing this, and when The Kinston Trio saw them perform it in concert, they recorded it the next day.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.

Flower Power!!!

Remember the words from the song…

“Where have all the flowers gone?
…long time passing…. ”

  1. Right on Jim! LOL. The good news is that dried up old hippie chick with all those bulges and graphics fits right in with the background. Gives a new meaning to stealth!

As for the song, for those of us who have served and lived through the travesty of war, this song holds a significance that we carry around in our hearts.

    Carry on, Jim!

  2. LOL! I happen to know a few of those old hippie chicks….they still believe in “Love” but it’s not “Free” any longer, now it will cost you $5.00 for a BJ !!! “Free Lunches” for them! Just Not for you!….Just plain nasty they are.

    Love the song also!

  3. Talk about super sick old people!!!!!

  4. ‘If it doesn’t look good, cover it up”!

    quote~Suzanne Somers~

the problem is that she thinks she looks just as hot as she did over 40 years ago!!! It’s just us who think she could gag a maggot walking around like that! LOL! As I said above….I know some old hippie women who are just as sure of their beauty as this picture of the old tattooed broad!…..all attitude and a spare tire or two! They aren’t love handles anymore!

  6. I’m not a big fan of tattoos. Even if you don’t put on much weight as you get older, you will still become wrinkled. Those tats will look as though they were drawn on an accordion! Just sayin…
