Once again the Huffington Post puts up another story that has much to say about nothing. The Huffington Post is like the rest of the media, does what it can for a sound byte or a head line that may stick. In this case they have failed. Republican Congressman John Runyan of New Jersey’s 3rd district has essentially the same position as Presidential Candidate Michele Bachman. Click on the link above he has received an in depth review.
Now if this has been fully understood, a comparison is being drawn between two politicians and comparing Michele Bachmann with two showboating NFL stars. The logic here completely escapes me. Then again maybe not. Michelle can take the hits, on and off the field.
U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-N.J.), a former offensive tackle in the NFL who was elected to Congress last year, likened the actions of “some” of his conservative colleagues to those of pro-football player Terrell Owens, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Runyan reportedly made the comparison during a closed-door House Republican Conference meeting in April. According to Politico, several GOP lawmakers “called out” Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) for criticizing a federal budget deal reached to prevent a government shutdown during the session. House Speaker John Boehner played a key role in achieving the agreement with Democrats. (Yesterday’s news, perhaps said unnamed Republicans are not acquainted with commitment and principles?)
Runyan and Owens played together on the Philadelphia Eagles for a brief period several years ago. Owens has made headlines for ruffling feathers with his teammates and for demonstrating questionable behavior on the field.
The Huffington Post may consider Michele Bachmann’s behavior questionable while most Republicans look to her as a rising star.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, I’m J.C. and I approve this message.
